Evans shot 45.8 percent from the floor and added 1.5 steals per contest in averaging 37.2 minutes for a rebuilding Kings squad that ended the year 25-57 -- second from the bottom in the Western Conference. The 6-foot-6 guard was the consensus National Freshman of the Year and a finalist for both the Wooden Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy as a collegiate freshman. He led the Tigers in scoring with 17.1 points per game and set a school record for freshmen with 77 steals. Evans finished with 67 of a possible 123 first-place votes and ended with 491 overall tallies. Golden State's Stephen Curry finished second with 43 first-place votes and 391 total votes. The Davidson product averaged 17.5 points, 5.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 80 games. Milwaukee's Brandon Jennings finished third, picking up 12 first-place votes and 204 overall. He finished the 2009-10 campaign averaging 15.5 points, 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds in all 82 games.
